
Dr. Graveley’s practice focuses on the non-operative treatment
of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. As a board certified sports medicine
physician and a licensed acupuncturist, he combines traditional and integrative
methods in dealing with patients’ pain problems. He treats patients of all ages and activity
levels, and their problems include
sports injuries, work injuries, degenerative conditions such as arthritis,
headaches, spine conditions, and nerve entrapment disorders such as carpal
tunnel syndrome. He has a particular
interest in treating the “baby boomers”, who often seek his care to help manage
their pain so that they may continue to enjoy an active lifestyle.
Originally from Northeast Philadelphia, Dr. Graveley
completed his undergraduate education at St.
Joseph’s University in 1996. From there he went to Temple University
School of Medicine, and received his medical degree in 2000. He then completed a residency in family
medicine at AbingtonMemorialHospital
in 2003. He went on to complete a
fellowship in sports medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 2004,
where he had the opportunity to train at the Rothman Institute and work for the
medical team of the Philadelphia Phillies.
In 2006, he completed medical acupuncture training at the Helms Medical
Institute at the UCLA School of Medicine.
Since completing his fellowship training, Dr. Graveley spent three years
in private practice before opening Progressive Sports Medicine in August
2007. He serves on the medical staffs of
The Chester County Hospital and AbingtonMemorialHospital.
In addition to serving the Kennett Square community, Dr. Graveley
serves as a preceptor and sports medicine consultant to the AbingtonMemorialHospital family medicine residency
program in Abington, PA, where he teaches sports medicine to
physicians in training and medical students.
Also, Dr. Graveley is a medical director for Executive Health Resources
in Newtown Square, PA.
On behalf of patients and hospitals, he appeals patient hospital stays
that have been denied by health insurance companies.
Dr. Graveley’s wife, Meghan Ginty, M.D., is a family
physician with ChesPenn in Coatesville,
PA. They have two boys, Sean (3) and Colin (1). In his spare time, he enjoys spending time
with his family, golf, skiing, playing piano, and in-line hockey.
